I got to spend some quality time with my nieces and nephews while Kent and I were in Michigan. They are growing up WAY too fast! It was so good to get in some good play time, hugs, snuggles and laughter. I was just going to put one picture up of each kid, but I couldn't pick just one. They're just too darn precious. :)

I went to Chelan over the weekend with my friend, Laura, and her parents. The weather was amazing (90+ degrees most days)! We hung out most of the time by the beach so I didn't end up taking very many pictures, but on our last day there, the weather wasn't as warm and it was really breezy, so we decided to go wine tasting. Here are a few pictures of that day of the two places we went.

Mine grows. Or at least it is trying to. We have been having lots of boo-worthy weather here in Washington with little sunshine and little warmth. Not so ideal for gardeners (or anybody for that matter!).

Here's the before picture of my garden taken back in May (senior pose-style):

Heirloom tomatoes given by my friend, Phillip (in the cages). Roma tomatoes grown by me in between.


Since my peppers that had been planted in the plot earlier obviously didn't do so well, I decided to keep a few planted on my porch to see which ones do better in the end. Also, growing peppers was what I was most excited about, and they are probably doing the worst out of the entire garden. So I have two red pepper plants with one green pepper plant in the middle. You can tell I transplanted the green pepper into a bigger flower container before the red peppers...it actually had space to grow its roots. Now hopefully the red peppers will catch up (because I oh so love red peppers!).


It's a work in progress, but it is a lot of fun to see these plants - all but two - started from seeds in my kitchen and now growing into something soon-to-be edible.
